BBS Silkie Hatching Eggs — Plus Extras
Imagine cracking open your incubator to find a fluffy cloud of Black, Blue, and Splash Silkie chicks — that's the magic these eggs can bring to your flock. Sourced from our carefully managed BBS breeding pen, every egg is selected for genetics, shell quality, and hatch potential.
About Our Breeding Pen
We've built this pen with intention. Our cross pairs deep, obsidian Black Silkie hens — known for their exceptional fluff and rich pigmentation — with calm, correct Blue and White roosters chosen for temperament and proper toe separation. The result? A beautiful, unpredictable mix of Black, Blue, and Splash offspring that makes every hatch an exciting reveal.
What's Included
- 6+ or 12+ Hand-Selected Eggs — chosen for shell integrity, shape, and cleanliness
- Bonus "Insurance" Eggs — extra eggs included at no charge to offset any transit losses
- NPIP Certified Flock — Clean/AI Monitored facility, NPIP #52-581, so you know our birds are healthy and tested
Our Packaging Promise
We use our signature "mummy-wrap" method — each egg is rested 12–24 hours post-collection to settle the air cell, individually wrapped and secured in the carton, then double-boxed with generous cushioning to absorb vibration and thermal shock in transit. We treat every egg like it's going to be a show bird.
Hatching Policy
Shipped hatching eggs carry inherent risks — rough handling, X-ray exposure, and incubator variables are outside our control. We maintain excellent fertility rates in our own incubators and pack with extreme care, but we cannot guarantee a specific hatch rate. We appreciate your understanding.
Arrival Tips for Best Results
- Rest first: Set eggs pointy-side down at room temperature for 24 hours to let air cells settle before incubating.
- Pre-warm your incubator: Run it at a stable temperature for at least 48 hours before adding eggs.
Happy Hatching! 🐣
